RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE IN TURKEYS

INDICATION: As an aid in the prevention of coccidiosis in turkeys.

USE DIRECTIONS: Use 0.0125% amprolium medicated feed as sole ration from one day of age up to and including sixteen (16) weeks of age.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE IN BROILER CHICKENS

INDICATION: As an aid in the prevention of deaths from coccidiosis.

USE DIRECTIONS: Use 0.0125% or 0.025% amprolium medicated feed as sole ration from one day of age until birds are slaughtered.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE IN REPLACEMENT CHICKENS

INDICATION (1): As an aid in the prevention of death from coccidiosis in chickens intended as conventional floor managed layers.

USE DIRECTIONS:

HEAVY EXPOSURE TO COCCIDIOSIS - Use 0.0125% - 0.008% amprolium medicated feed as sole ration from one day of age until 14 weeks as follows:

LIGHT TO MODERATE EXPOSURE TO COCCIDIOSIS - Use 0.008% - 0.006% amprolium medicated feed as sole ration from one day of age until 14 weeks as follows:

INDICATION (2): As an aid in the prevention of deaths from coccidiosis in chickens intended as caged layers.

USE DIRECTIONS: Use 0.0125% or 0.025% amprolium medicated feed as sole ration from one day of age until birds are placed in cages.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE IN CALVES

INDICATION: As an aid in the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis and E. zuernii in calves.

USE DIRECTIONS:

PREVENTION - 250 mg of amprolium per 50 kg of body weight (5 mg/kg) per day for 21 days during periods of exposure or when experience indicates that coccidiosis is likely to be a hazard.

TREATMENT - 500 mg of amprolium per 50 kg of body weight (10 mg/kg) per day for five (5) days.

The proper amount of amprolium medicated supplement is mixed with the amount of ration usually consumed in one day.

The table below gives suggested directions for using a 0.05% amprolium supplement.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MIXING: AMPROLIUM 250 should be thoroughly and evenly mixed in the feed in accordance with current good manufacturing practice for medicated feed. We recommend that a premix be made before the final mixing.

Warning

CHICKENS AND TURKEYS:

No withdrawal period is required for turkeys and chickens when treated according to the label.

Do not feed to laying birds in production.

CALVES:

Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least seven (7) days after the latest treatment with this drug.

Keep out of reach of children.

Amprolium 250 Caution

CHICKENS AND TURKEYS:

1. Do not use amprolium medicated feed for treatment of outbreaks of coccidiosis.

2. If unexpected deaths occur, obtain an accurate diagnosis and follow veterinarian’s or poultry pathologist’s recommendations.

CALVES:

1. Do not use in feeds for calves intended for future breeding.

2. For a satisfactory diagnosis, a microscopic examination of the feces should be done by a veterinarian or diagnostic laboratory before treatment; when treating outbreaks, drug should be administered promptly after diagnosis is determined.

3. Do not use in feeds containing pellet binding agents except Pel-Aid.

4. Do not store feeds above 25°C or at elevated humidity for more than 2 weeks.
